Is there anything more beautiful than watching your child bloom? At Villa Bloom, that’s exactly what we’re here for.

With the Montessori method and the joy of play, we gently support your child as they thrive – and bloom.

We speak English

At Villa Bloom, children from all over the world, including Brazil, the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Korea, Japan, China and India, come together in a truly international community. Our common language is English, though we are always happy to speak German when needed. And if your child does not yet speak English, there is no need to worry – in the right environment, young children absorb language naturally, like a sponge.

Montessori

Since 1982

… children from Bavaria and around the world have been blooming in our cozy villa in Munich. From the start, we’ve followed the Montessori approach, with English as our main language. For us, Montessori is one of the most thoughtful and respectful ways to nurture a child’s natural potential.

Independent Kids

Montessori children learn independently and at their own pace. They tend to be more curious, ask deeper “why” questions, and show more creativity, as they’re encouraged from an early age to explore and discover rather than simply follow instructions.

No Hocus-Pocus

Whether or not we owe Google or Amazon to Maria Montessori is, of course, a playful debate — but it’s true that their founders, along with Prince William and Harry, Taylor Swift, George Clooney, Jackie Kennedy, and many more, were Montessori kids.

We believe kindergarten is so much more than a safe place where children spend their day.

Past

In the past, kindergartens in Germany were often seen mainly as a space for free play while parents were at work. That was valuable, but the focus was mostly on care and supervision. Learning was not yet considered part of early childhood, and kindergartens were rarely viewed as places of education.

Today

Today, thanks to modern pedagogy and brain research, we know the early years are crucial for developing social skills, independence and cognitive abilities. Early childhood is now understood as a formative phase that shapes how children think, feel and relate to others. This insight has changed expectations of what a kindergarten can and should be.

Our Credo

At Villa Bloom we see ourselves not just as caregivers but as the very first place of education. Our mission is to nurture children, help them grow in values and skills, spark their curiosity and prepare them for life. Free play remains important, but here it is embedded in a purposeful and joyful environment that helps children gain confidence, initiative and a love for discovery.

FAQ

  • What makes Villa Bloom different?

    “We have a plan!”
    The Montessori Curriculum

Montessori education is structured early learning. We see kindergarten as a preschool, a place where children learn through exploration and purpose – much more than just a safe space for free play all day.

    “We teach values for life”
    Responsibility and Behavior

Beyond knowledge and facts, we nurture respect, social skills, and a sense of daily responsibility.

    “Small Ratio – Big Impact”
    Exceptional teacher-to-child ratio

More attention means better learning outcomes. Our ratio is 1:7 in Kindergarten (and 1:4 in Nursery), well below the legal requirement.

    “You are our partner”
    Transparency and communication

We believe parents are partners in education. You’ll receive weekly updates about what we’re teaching and quarterly reports on your child’s development. We ensure you always know what your child is learning and experiencing.

    “Grow with us”
    A vibrant international community

We foster a close-knit community of parents and children – where else can you meet families from over 12 different countries?

    “Improved logistics”
    Convenience for families

If you have more than one child, our nursery and childcare facilities under one roof make your day easier. Siblings can even see each other during the day!

  • At what age can my child start attending?

Our Nursery/Day Care welcomes children from 1 year of age, and our Kindergarten/Preschool starts at age 3.

If your child is ready earlier, we handle this individually – Montessori materials are designed for children from around 2½ years old.

  • Can my child start at any time during the year?

Yes, sometimes! Because of our international community, spots may open up on short notice.

Just give us a call, and we’ll be happy to check availability for you.

  • What does a typical day in a Montessori classroom look like?

Our days include a balance of structured Montessori work time, group activities, outdoor play, and creative exploration. The best way to explore is a „test” session with us.

  • Where can I get more details on your educational concept?

Our educational concept, in accordance with Section 14 of the Bavarian Child and Adolescent Care Act (BayKiBiG), is available for review at the facility. Upon request, we will be happy to send it to you digitally.

  • How often do the children play outdoors?

We are lucky to have a large park right next to our Kindergarten – perfect for sledding, swinging, and exploring nature!

Children usually play outdoors twice a day (weather permitting). The small children in the nursery have their own little backyard which is accessible directly.

  • What do the children eat at Villa Bloom?

We partner with a high-quality catering company. Our nutrition policy includes:

    • Pork-free meals (to respect our international community)
    • Organic ingredients
    • Healthy snacks and balanced meals

If your child has allergies or dietary restrictions, we can easily adapt and will share meal plans regularly.

  • What are your opening hours?

We’re open every day from 8:15 to 4:30 pm.

If you need more flexibility, please talk to us – we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs. We follow the Bavarian school calendar but offer programs during most school holidays.

  • Does my child need to speak English to join?

“We speak English – but German is OK too!”

Our main language is English, but don’t worry – a German-speaking teacher is always available. All our staff speak at least basic German or are native speakers. Children naturally pick up new languages quickly and often communicate in several languages at once!
